The 34th edition of INSPIRAMAIS—the leading materials trade show for the footwear, apparel, jewelry, furniture, and automotive upholstery industries in Latin America—is expected to generate R$ 61.68 million (US$ 12 million) in business with the international market alone over the next six months. The estimate comes from a report by the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Artifacts (Assintecal), which hosts the event in partnership with the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB), the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (Abit), and the Brazilian Furniture Manufacturers Association (Abimóvel). INSPIRAMAIS took place on July 7 and 8 at the Pro Magno Event Center in São Paulo, SP.

According to the Assintecal report, more than R$ 15.4 million (US$ 3 million) in immediate business was generated with importers brought in through Brazilian Materials—an internationalization incentive program for the sector promoted by Assintecal in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). In total, 22 groups from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and Turkey were brought in, conducting over 520 business rounds with 60 exhibiting companies. This amount, combined with the deals outlined during the event, exceeded R$ 61 million, marking a 28% increase compared to the trade show’s previous edition. According to Assintecal’s superintendent, Silvana Dilly, “this figure is even more significant given the current turbulent scenario in the international market.”

Cross-cutting Nature Silvana also highlights the evolution of the trade show, which has been attracting domestic and international buyers from industrial sectors that were not previously drawn to the event. “The cross-cutting nature of the materials presented by our more than 150 exhibitors is increasingly visible in our aisles, with buyers from diverse segments ranging from footwear to automotive,” she celebrates. In this edition, attendance exceeded 7,000 people from all over Brazil, Latin American countries, and Europe. For the 34th edition, caravans from the footwear and apparel hubs of Birigui/SP, Franca/SP, Jaú/SP, Nova Serrana/MG, São João Batista/SC, and Blumenau/SC were also organized with the support of local footwear industry unions.

Avant-Garde INSPIRAMAIS is already a traditional event for Brazilian fashion, visited not only by major players from the national and international markets but also by professionals and researchers in the field. This is because, over the two days, in addition to business dealings, lectures and fashion workshops are held, and creations are showcased. Examples include the Hub Conexão Criativa (Creative Connection Hub) area—which featured 33 micro-entrepreneurs and artisans presenting their sustainable innovations in products and services—and the Leather Preview, featuring over 60 distinct hides.

The Trade Show INSPIRAMAIS was organized by Brazilian Materials in partnership with Sebrae Nacional. Institutional support was provided by the Brazilian Association of Textile Retail (Abvtex). The next edition of the trade show will take place on January 27 and 28, 2028, in Porto Alegre, RS.
